Hi Matteo,

We have actually created the liveCD based on FreeBSD 6.2 Stable using Freesbie. You can find the information here -

http://www.rawpacket.org/projects/hex-livecd

Same like you as we have actually waited for the unionfs to be ported stably so that we can work on new version of liveCD when FBSD 7.0 is shipped. Unionfs in 6.2 was broken and we can't really use it.

Cheers ;]

> Can you post a direct link? I didn't see one on the freesbie site -- only saw FreeSBIE 2.0.1-RELEASE.

It looks like I wasn't clear. The image is not ready yet. I'm working 14 on it. I'll announce it availability on this blog, once it's ready.

> Also, isn't there a live CD for CURRENT_7?

Not that I'm aware of..

>Not overly familiar with
> BSD- could you give me a quick overview between the differences?

To make a long story short:
FreeBSD: performance and usability
NetBSD: portability (it runs on veeery old and exotic hardware)
OpenBSD: security-aware
This is quite reductive, obviously.
