Motorbiking in the Alps

From Monday to Wednesday I’ve been in the Dolomites with Elena and my bike. We had three great days full of hairpin curves: from Padova we went to Pieve di Cadore, then Lozzo, Auronzo, Misurina, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Carbonin, Ospitale, Cortina d’Ampezzo.

On Tuesday we made our best (and our backs reserves a mention of [...]

Update about Flash on FreeBSD with gnash

Back in May, I wrote a post about Flash on FreeBSD using gnash.
Now that gnash-0.8.1 is in the ports tree, I have to say that the greasemonkey+mplayer hack is no longer needed to watch YouTube videos.
Everything works great using gnash alone.

GPG key expired and updated

My GPG key expired on Sunday, so I renewed it today (by changing the expiration date). Download it.

Once in a while: todo list update

Recipe for a good devsummit

While having some rest from auditing of the RPC code (src/lib/libc/rpc/), I give you the correct recipe for making a good FreeBSD Developers Summit.

Bandwidth, both wireless and wired, because Attilio’s [...]

Traveling to Copenhagen

Ok, I’m leaving from home at 11.45, with flight departing at 14.10. Landing in Copenhagen is planned at 16.15. Attilio will already be there and we’ll meet at the airport.
We will move to $WHERE_THE_DEVSUMMIT_TAKES_PLACE tomorrow morning by train+cab.

Moved to gnome2-lite

After more than 3 years (may be more..) I moved from xfce4 to gnome2-lite on my laptop. Desktop wil follow if the experience with gnome during the EuroBSDCon DevSummit will be a positive one.
Sad? Not too much.

Things that come back

Today, many things appeared again in my life:

I have a watch on my wrist: the present from my parents for my graduation. It’s a Rolex Air-King which belonged to my father and then to my mother. I stopped wearing wrist watches when I started using the keyboard for more than few hours a day, 4 [...]

Vacuum

At the moment, I am neither flying in the air nor walking on the earth, nor swimming under the sea.
Undefined situation, please define it before using my soul.
